Ruth Dobrin (Chorus)

Ruth Seligman Dobrin, 88, died December 8, 2001 in Virginia. Born in Nutley, NJ, she had lived in Jacksonville over 50 years and was a member of the Jacksonville Jewish Center, the Center Sisterhood, Hadassah, Brandeis University Womens Committee, National Council of Jewish Women, volunteered for many years at River Garden Hebrew Home and for Meals on Wheels. A graduate of Ryder College in New Jersey, she had a Master of Music Degree from Jacksonville University, taught for many years at Landon High School, retired as the Chair of the Music Department at Wolfson High School and taught at Jacksonville University. She was retired from the Duval County School System and had been active in numerous educational and music organizations. Survivors include her husband, Milton Dobrin, 2 sons, Dr. Leonard Dobrin (Dora) and Ronald Dobrin, daughter, Michele Dobrin, 2 sisters, Dorothy Klein and Leona Thaw and 3 grandsons, Dr. Sidney Dobrin, Dr. Benjamin Dobrin and Dr. Adam Dobrin. Graveside services will be held at 1:00P.M. Wednesday, December 12, 2001 at Center Memorial Park (43rd at Liberty) with Rabbi Stephen Grundfast officiating.
