Wilson C. Cole, Sr. passed away on Friday, July 3, 2009. He was born in Pinehurst, GA, and has lived most of his life in Jacksonville. He was a member of the former Beaver Street Baptist Church where he was baptized. He attended Andrew Jackson High School and was part of the football team that won the state championship in 1946. He was a devoted husband and father. He is the son of the late, John Benjamin Cole, Sr. and Nina Woodard. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary Lou; sons, Thomas Cole (Teri), Wilson Cole, Jr., Richard Cole (Brenda) and David Cole (Patty) all of Jacksonville; daughter, Linda Cole also of Jacksonville; brother, Frank Cole of Baldwin; sister, Frances Rogero of Jacksonville; 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 9, at 10:30 am, in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, with Rev. John Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery (Gate # 6) Jacksonville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday (today) from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
