Fredric Ellis [Freddie] Cohn

April 28, 1951 - October 5, 1969 in Gainesville, FL

Fredric Ellis Cohn, 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald D. Cohn, of 735 S. Granada Blvd, died Sunday at University Hospital, Gainesville. Fredric was born in Jacksonville and had lived here all of his life. He was a member of Temple Ahevath Chesed. He was a graduate of Wolfson Senior High Class of '69. Survivors include his parents, his maternal grandmother, Mrs. David Harris; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Jack Cohn; two sisters, Miss Linda Cohn and Miss Barbara Cohn, of this city. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the gravesite in Temple Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Sidney Lefrowitz and Rabbi Israel Kaplan, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Dr. Robert Cade, Renal Department, University Hospital, Gainesville, Fla. Hardage & Sons South Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Ave., is in charge.

Freddie was one of the nicest guys around. He kind of stayed under the radar screen because he was so quiet. We used to hang out at each others house on Friday nights. He died so young - I hope some other people will remember Freddie.

Kathy Winter (Class Of 1966)

I graduated with the class of '66 and was friends with Freddie's sister, Linda. I still think about this adorable boy and the tremendous loss this was to his family. It's important for families to know that we don't forget them in spite of distance and time. Continued love to the Cohns. Kathy Winter
