I had no idea Ilene was gone. She was so much fun to be around. I really enjoyed our friendship. I am very sorry to hear about this. Chris Pratt Whitaker

I am shocked to hear Ilene has passed. We had such wonderful times together. I remember Marcia Rice, Ilene and myself singing in chorus and aggrevating the hell out of Mrs. Dobrin. Ilene was one of the people I wanted to see at our twentieth reunion. She was there and we had a great time. I am in shock!

Ilene was my first date that I recall - 7th or 8th grade. My mother drove us to I don't know where since I can't remember. We must not have had fun since we never went "out" again - I'm sure I was quite the square at that point. We did become good friends and I was very sorry to hear this.

I was so sorry to hear about Ilene's passing...what a sweetheart she was...we met in elementary school and were good friends through high school and for many years after...We got together several times in Fort Lauderdale during the late '80's after I moved down here in 1985 from Atlanta...My memories of Ilene are very special and I know she is missed by many.

Ilene was one of those free spirits that all of us were so very fortunate to share our high school years with. She brightened my day every time I would see her. Her smiling face and happy personality will be greatly missed by all of us. May the Good Lord bless her sweet heart.

Ilene was truly a free spirit and we both knew that back in high school. She and I were two of the "bad" girls on the cheerleading squad but, we sure did have a good time and if that made us "bad", so be it. I spent alot of time with her and Pete Breslin at the 20th and am so grateful I had the additional time with her. Of all things, at the time she was an IRS agent. Boy, did we get some good laughs from that one. The world has truly lost a beautiful person but, God has gained a righteous soul in Ilene. Be at peace. Love, Janet

I spent every Sunday on the phone with Ilene for the last 18 months of her life. Made several trips to Ft. Lauderdale during this time after her diagnosis and she was still dancing (jazz, tap)till the very end. Her laugh was always infectious and she was the same free spirit at the end that we all remember from school. She is now my guardian angel and I can tell you that the preciousness of friendships we all made in high school remain a gift forever.

I am late finding my way to the Memory Page, but I had heard about Ilene's passing several years ago.  Sorry to hear.  Ilene always had a smile on her face.  Not easy when you're fifteen!
