Enoch Ronald Wanton

On March 14, 1951 Enoch Ronald Wanton was born to the late George Alexander Wanton, Sr. and the late Annie Mae Vivian Wanton. He was raised in Jacksonville, Florida and graduated from Samuel W. Wolfson High School.

After graduation he enlisted into the United States Army where he served for 19 years receiving an honorable discharge. After his discharge from the military he worked at the Florida Times Union for several years.

On Tuesday, November 24, 2020 around 9:30 in the evening Enoch Ronald Wanton loving spirit elevated from pain and agony to eternal peace and serenity. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Amoke Wanton; one sister, Dorothy Evans; and stepmother, Helen Wanton.

The footprints of his life will be followed by a devoted family he leaves behind, his children, Chucky Wanton, Casaundra Wanton, Rhonda Wanton, Tayya Wanton and Maya Winfrey; twenty brothers and sisters, George Ector (Bertha), Josephine Jones, George Wanton, Jr. (Stephanie), Gladys Watts, Joan Britt (Chris), Marriam Washington (William), Rev. Dr. Vanessa Wallace, Lorraine Early, Anita Chandler (Earl), Brenda Bronson, Craig Edwards, Sr. (Paula), Willard Edwards (Sherri), Jonett Lewis (Tonny), Darrell Thomas, Anthony Arnold, Velma Gist (Earle), Ira Evans (Corrine), Bernadette Smith (Kittom) and Bertina Ingram (Randy); thirteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; devoted aunt, Louise Steele; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.
