Reginald Dale [Reggie] Davis VIEW PROFILE

Reginald Davis (65) of Palm Coast, Florida passed away on Thursday, April 6th, 2017. Reggie was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. After high school, he followed his passion of sports and attended Florida A&M University where he played baseball and studied Sports Medicine.

Just shy of graduation, he was lured away by Amtrak, which ultimately spurred his move north to Pennsylvania where he met his wife, Kathy, and lived for nearly 21 years. Having finally had enough of the cold, he and Kathy finally migrated south to Palm Coast where he spent the past 10 years. After 38 dedicated years with Amtrak, Reggie spent the last 5 years enjoying his hard earned retirement traveling, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Reggie was a loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His wish for all is to rejoice and find peace in the Lord. In our sadness, please be lifted up remembering his bright, infectious smile and his very warm gentle heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Dozier and Mrs. Evelyn (Hobby) Davis Joiner; and his brother, Ronald Davis (Sheri).

Reggie is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Davis; son, Reggie Davis, Jr. (Kimberly); grandson, Reggie Davis, III; granddaughters, Amani and Zara; stepson, David de la Parra (Lauren) and granddaughter, Tadi; brothers, Glenn Davis (Jackie), Robert Davis (Monica); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, extended Joiner family and countless friends.

Mr. Davis will be laid to rest in the Greenlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday from 9:00am until the hour of service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Shriners Hospital or Mercy Ships: shrinershospitalsforchildren.org or mercyships.org.

Sarah L. Carter's Funeral Home Southside Chapel is serving the family.
