Wow -- this is hard to believe.  I didn't know Sam very well, but I do remember vividly him talking about our teacher's "blue blunts," ie her pumps.  This always got a laugh out of the class.

Spent many Saturdays down at Access Five with Sam.  Took my breath away when I saw this.  Will have wonderful memories of our times together to last me until we meet again.  So many friends gone too soon.

This was a shocking email this morning and makes me so sad. I remember classes with Sam where we secretly passed notes back and forth to pass the time. He was so smart and funny. Somewhere in my attic box of high school “stuff” I still have a few of those notes. He always made me smile. I remember how cool we all thought his new car was - a 1968 or 69 Jaguar, I believe. My sympathies to his family.

Sam and I were walking from the track back to the locker rooms. About 20' feet in front of us were Libby Mathews, Darian McIntyre and Linda Powell. Sam fell behind me a bit and called out to them. As they turned around Sam yanked my gym shorts to my ankles and took off running. There was that awkward pause as they stared at me and I stared back at them before reaching down to pull my shorts up. By this time Sam was standing next to them roaring with laughter. I never did adequately repay him for that. As seniors we had some class together and everyday when the bell rang we would exit the classroom, waiting outside the door until Gretchen Dean and Liz Fink walked by, then we would fall in, following behind them until reaching a crossing hall. Sam and I both had a thing for Liz but neither one of us ever acted on it. I was fortunate to have had Sam as a friend during high school and to see him sporadically after. As adults we shared some common demons.                     May you dwell in the house of the Lord.      R.I.P. Lefkovits.

Would someone pleased share with me how we lost Sam......I was a friend and a fan, and had no idea. I am shaken by the number of classmates that I had the honor and pleasure of knowing that are gone. Rahney Rahn
